Astilbe chinensis Black Pearls

Astilbe is a perennial with feathery, rich foliage. Its dark green, lacy foliage is decorative throughout the whole season, so it always provides a striking sight, not only during flowering. Its height can reach 70 cm and its width 30-60 cm. Its small, purple-pink flowers bloom in dense, long panicles from June. It prefers a shady or partially shaded spot, but can also be grown in a sunny spot in areas with cooler summers. It needs well-structured, moist, slightly acidic, nutrient-rich soil. Its water needs are high. It is excellent for decorating shady beds, woodland gardens, or even ponds and stream banks.
